Adam Reid

Adam Reid took over the reins of The French in November 2016. His menus showcase his own personal style of modern British cooking, including the addition of a chef’s counter where up to 75% of the menu is prepared and a service style focused on the chefs delivering all dishes which allows interaction between the chefs and guests. 

Adam Reid at The French holds four rosettes in the AA Guide, it consistently ranks among the top restaurants in Manchester and the UK & has a ‘recommendation’ in the 2023 Michelin Guide. 

Adam appeared in BBC2’s Great British Menu 2016 series & won a coveted place at a banquet with his spectacular dessert – The Golden Empire. Adam returned to take part in the 14th series in April 2019 succeeding in the regional heats to reach the final of the competition. His winning dish, Comfort Food Sounds Good was served for main course at the banquet.
