Bledar was born in 1984, in Lezha, Albania.
From a young age he says ‘[he] had a strange habit and curiosity to taste almost every wild plant’ and that he always showed an interest in cooking, inspired by his mother and grandmother.
In 2000, at the age of 15, he migrated to London and worked washing dishes while studying at Thames Valley University. He worked at Pied à Terre and also staged at Le Gavroche. Seeking inspiration, Bledar traveled and worked as a chef around Albania from 2007 to 2010. Following three stages at NOMA and a stage at Faviken, he felt a strong need to return from where he had come from.‘It felt like my roots and my childhood memories were calling me to return home, so I decided to come back in Albania,’ he says.
He opened Mullixhiu restaurant with Altin & Anton Pregna in 2016 where his mission is to reinvent Albanian cuisine.
