TOPIC: Make Food Not War [ Monday: 5pm ]
Kamal Mouzawack (@kamalmouzawak) is founder of Souk el Tayeb, Lebanon’s first farmers market. After majoring in graphic design, Kamal became a food and travel writer. He was also a macrobiotic cooking teacher and tv chef, which lead to more involvement towards social and environmental change. According to Mouzawak, “in a country as divided as Lebanon, nothing can bring people together as much as the land and food.” Since 2004, Souk el-Tayeb has grown and expanded its operations to include educational programs in local schools and food festivals across the country to celebrate Lebanon’s culinary heritage.
