In 1986, Margarita Forés (@MargaritaFores) flew to Italy for a six-month crash course on Italian cooking and language. She traveled from Florence, Milan and Rome, immersing herself in the culture. This has been the foundation of her culinary education, from which she has now made a successful empire out of in her country, the Philippines, including her restaurant chain, Cibo, champagne bar Lusso, farm-to-table restaurant Grace Park, and Alta in Ascott where she runs the hotel’s food and beverage operations. Her catering company Cibo di M Signature Caterer has provided lavish banquets for celebrities and high profile personalities. Early this year, she was named Asia’s Best Female Chef by the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.
