Visionary chef Massimo Bottura (@massimobottura) is at the vanguard of a new generation of Italian chefs. His internationally renowned three Michelin star restaurant, Osteria Francescana, is currently number 1 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Massimo’s book, Never Trust a Skinny Italian Chef, documents over twenty years of cooking and the NETFLIX series CHEF’S TABLE released an engaging documentary on Osteria Francescana. In 2016, he was awarded European Chef of the Year for his work opening in Milan the Refettorio Ambrosiano kitchen, which serves meals prepared with repurposed food for guests from homeless shelters. He founded the nonprofit Food for Soul to continue the fight against the dual problem of hunger and food wastage. In August 2016, Massimo co-founded Refettorio Gastromotiva, a community kitchen in the heart of Rio de Janeiro in order to transform food surplus from the Olympic Village into nutritious and tasty meals for those in need.
