Niamh Dooley

Niamh Dooley is a co-founder of BiaSol, a young Irish company that takes the largest byproduct of the brewing industry (brewers spent grains) and turns it into premium food ingredients and products. BiaSol is Ireland’s first Upcycled Food Association Member and has created a circular food system in the heart of Ireland. Niamh studied Food Science & Health at the University of Limerick and has always had a passion for sustainable living.

BiaSol is on a mission to help rethink our current linear food systems and ultimately address the ‘take waste make model’. Niamh believes in reevaluating how we all currently treat food in our lives. She believes food is medicine and should be one of the highest priorities in our daily lives.

In terms of recognition, Niamh has helped lead the company to become a finalist in the following awards; The National Start-Up Awards, SFA Small Business Awards, The Green Awards, The Image Women in Business Awards, The ESG Circular Economy Award and The Blás na hEireann Awards, which culminated in the winning of the Irish Times Innovation Awards for Manufacturing and Design.

The mission has always been simple in BiaSol “Better for you, better for the planet”
