Rachel Allen

Brought up in Dublin, Rachel went to the Ballymaloe Cookery School in County Cork at the age of 18 to learn how to cook. After graduating she worked in the restaurant kitchen at Ballymaloe House then returned to the cookery school where she found her passion in teaching and where she still continues to teach. She lives on part of the farm at the Cookery School with her husband and three children. 

Rachel’s first cookbook Rachel’s Favourite Food was published in 2004 alongside a television series of the same name. Since then Rachel has written another 14 books and presented many cookery programmes. Her cookery shows are broadcast in over 30 countries worldwide and Rachel loves to travel to these countries to pass on her love of all things food.
